MARKETING ASSISTANT - FULL TIME

Located just blocks away from the Broadway City Hall Sky Train Station and steps from the 99B line - tucked underneath the Holiday Inn - it spans 18,000 square feet, featuring some of the best equipment that can be found in Vancouver.

This role includes but is not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

ADMINISTRATIVE
  • Utilize software and communication tools to manage marketing tasks and projects, ensuring all are completed by their due dates. 
  • Attend weekly and monthly marketing meetings with a prepared list of talking points and supporting documents to outline marketing team deliverables. 
  • Maintain complete knowledge of the company’s brand/style guide, buyer personas, membership promotions, personal training promotions, group fitness classes,  membership pricing, club amenities by location, and projected events.
  • Work closely with club leadership to ensure facility teams are trained on essential marketing items/events. 
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure proper use of the marketing request log and allocation of requests in project management software.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with action items on the company MARKETING LOG + PRINTING LOGS as needed. 
  • Report tasks and updates to appropriate leaders utilizing the approved software or task tracker assigned.
  • Provide support to the marketing and upper management teams with additional tasks as needed. 
  • Assist in idea-generation and provide feedback on marketing, retail strategies and systems company-wide 
GRAPHIC DESIGN/SOCIAL MEDIA (TIKTOK)
  • Assist in preparing brochures, reports, newsletters, and other promotional materials. 
  • Assist in executing club signage requests and ensure all signage is current and compliant with branding guidelines. 
  • Filming and creating TikTok content and posting approved media while monitoring analytics for engagement metrics such as views, likes, shares, and new followers. 
  • Assisting in content capture for general social media purposes as instructed by Marketing Manager 
  • Capture event footage and content as requested by marketing leaders 
  • Stay updated on fitness industry standards, marketing best practices, and social media trends across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Maintain an understanding of the company’s marketing/events and social media calendars.
EVENTS/PARTNERSHIPS
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in analyzing success of lead generation through partnership activations and events as needed. 
  •  Assist in initial contact with potential partners and support the development of tailored proposals, and negotiation of mutually beneficial agreements. 
  • Collaborate with club staff to establish new partnerships that enhance brand recognition within the community. 
  • Act as the first point of contact for partner communication or day-to-day tasks 
  • Ensure accurate creation of partnership documents and agreements in collaboration with the Marketing Manager 
  • Assist with bargaining and negotiations for tradable, in-kind items (e.g. merchandise, membership time or giveaway prizes) 
  • Work with club staff and marketing leaders for planning and organization, transport and execution, teardown and cleanup of events. 
  • Ensure clear communication regarding event schedules and expectations for staff and third parties involved in both internal and external events. 
  • Organize required event materials and coordinate rentals as needed (e.g. speakers, tents, etc.) 
  • Manage internal event logistics, including guest check-in and staff scheduling 
  • Scout external event locations, ensuring company requirements are met. 
  • Prepare lead response scripting and best practices for events/activations 
  • Ensure appropriate guest or vendor check-in policies are followed for internal events - including notifying club staff of arrival and departure times of vendors. 
MERCHANDISE
  • Schedule and lead merchandise meetings and task planning 
  • Assist with vendor negotiations and quotes for product printing 
  • Conduct vendor retail visits to assess product quality 
  • Manage inventory of all products and execute inventory markdowns as needed across all club locations. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • OR 2 to 3 years work experience in a marketing or related position
  • Advanced knowledge of social media platforms, particularly TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Personal Trainer, Social Media, Graphic Design, and other Marketing Certifications is an asset
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles and strategies
  • Familiarity with lead generation techniques and customer acquisition strategies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience in event planning, inventory management, partner and vendor relationship management is an asset
